THE CENTER

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Colossians 1: 15-20 (NLT)

Ancient Song

I’ve been finding myself in the midst of a whirlwind, Caught up and blown from here to there
A mess of emotions
The highs and lows

How often do I stop to remember you are here with me In the here below

On a mountain peak you paint the sunset to remind me That you’re the one who carried me on this uneven terrain In the depth of grief rolling in like thunderstorms
You wash away any doubt that I have to do this alone

You, an I am
For all that I am not

A grounding point to balance
To look forward
And to look at behind
Noticing the miracles that came before me The miracles that led me here

I am nothing without it;
The power of your presence
Pulling me forward
An eternal invisible string
A red thread
In every untold story
That shows I’ve never gone at it alone It’s always been you
I’ve never been on my own
You’ve always been near
Never giving up
You’ve been at the center
Holding me up
